Addiction

Addiction is an uncontrollable urge to do something, which can be difficult to stop. For instance, it can involve substances like cigarettes, alcohol, or drugs, all of which can lead to addiction. These substances can harm you and, in some cases, may even be life-threatening.

Moreover, addiction can also involve psychological dependence on behaviours such as gambling, shopping, or sex. While these are not chemical addictions, they can still cause significant distress. Eventually, they may become so uncontrollable that they lead to negative consequences, such as relationships being affected, falling into debt.
