Mia Pickard

Based in Oulton Leeds 26 and online

I am an integrative therapist and I am a registered member of BACP. There are times in life where things can feel too much. Whatever your issues, we can work on understanding your feelings and your situation and ways to not feel overwhelmed.

Practice description

An integrative counsellor means that I may draw on techniques from different types of therapy to tailor an approach specifically for you.  I’ll support you through a journey of increased self-awareness and then acceptance and/or change.

I am passionate about recognising the importance of the mind and body connection and using the body to help the mind move away from being stuck in a cycle of anxiety and stress. So, depending on what is the right approach for you and what you are comfortable with, I may suggest 3rd Wave CBT and body-based techniques such as mindfulness and breath work. I may also offer creative therapy techniques.

What I can help with

I have experience in, and can help with, a range of short and long-term issues such as: Abuse, Addictions, Anger, Anxiety, Bereavement, Carer/parent stress, Childhood trauma, Depression, Feelings of shame, Health related issues/ disability, Identity issues, Men’s issues, Neurodivergence, Relationships, Self-esteem, Sexual abuse, Stress, Trauma, Women’s issues such as menopause, Work related issues.

How I work, and who I work with

I am currently offering short term or long-term online therapy sessions.  I work with young people (16+) and adults.
