Based in Headingley LS6 and online.
My training is in Person-Centred Counselling, which means that I provide a confidential, safe
and non-judgmental environment to help you to work through your past or present difficulties.
My aim is to focus on your needs and work with you, to help you move forwards in a
confidential, non-judgemental environment.
Sometimes life can feel challenging and confusing. Talking to friends and family may be helpful,
however some problems are difficult to discuss with those near to us and there may be
occasions when you feel the need for additional support. I have experience in counselling
clients with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, bereavement, neurodiversity,
relationship breakdown, family dynamics, workplace stress, bullying and gender identity.
I can help you to understand how and why you think and feel the way you do. This can enable
you to develop self confidence and acceptance of who you are. Self confidence can reduce
anxiety which supports resilience, which is the ability to recover and adjust to life’s challenges.
As a midwife, working in the NHS has provided me with special interests and skills in supporting
those who have experienced difficulty conceiving, childbirth anxiety, birth trauma and those who
have experienced pregnancy loss. I am also experienced in supporting those who have lost a
baby following birth. I am presently undertaking further specialist training with the Pregnancy
and Neonatal Loss charity, Petals to develop my skills and expertise further in this area.
My role as a genetic counsellor has given me extensive experience in working with people and
families, who are concerned that they have a condition which they may have inherited or passed
on and may benefit from additional psychological support.
