Abuse

Abuse is when someone causes harm or distress. Ranging from control, disrespect, financial abuse and can also be causing someone physical or mental pain. Abuse can occur anywhere at any time for example in someone’s home, work, care home, hospital or a public place.

Addiction

Addiction is an urge to do something that is hard to take control of or stop. It can include cigarettes, alcohol, or drugs, you could become addicted to them. They can really hurt you and could even kill you. Addiction can also be a psychological dependants such as, gambling, shopping or sex. It is the urge to do something that is not chemical based, but can cause you distress and unable to control the urges to the point of becoming in debt.
